The course is for clinicians who want to improve the predictability of their clinical outcomes with adhesive dental procedures. Bonding to tooth structure is highly predictable and it is possible to achieve excellent long term outcomes. Adhesive dentistry enables us to provide our patients with aesthetically pleasing, biomimetic dental restorations but it can be overwhelming, especially with the multiple different bonding systems and dental materials that are available for use. By the end of this two day programme, delegates will be able to confidently discuss treatment options with their patients, select the ideal dental materials for various clinical scenarios, prepare teeth appropriately, and achieve predictable long term adhesion of restorations to teeth. Day 1: Direct Adhesive workflows Assessment of compromised teeth and indications for direct restorations Review of histomorphology of enamel and dentine Understanding of enamel and dentine bonding, concept of immediate dentine sealing and selection of bonding systems Review of rubber dam isolation Matrix selection for restoration of posterior teeth Detailed overview of composite resin restorative materials Protocols for executing predictable direct composite restorations Hands on – Rubber dam application Placement of matrices Restoration of extensive cavity in structurally compromised molar tooth with a direct composite resin restoration Day 2: Indirect adhesive workflows Assessment of compromised teeth and indications for indirect restorations Biomimetic concepts for the restoration of structurally compromised teeth Indirect restorative materials, appropriate material selection and tooth preparation Adhesive systems, surface treatments and cementation protocols for indirect restorative materials Clinical case based discussions to review indications, protocols and workflows Hands on – Tooth preparation for ceramic onlay restoration and provisionalisation Cementation of Lithium Disilicate onlay and Monolithic Zirconia crown
